Introduction

It started with an unexpected chance to buy a TRS-80 Model 1. A personal favourite, since it was my  very first computer. I bumped into it on EBay, made an offer and next weekend drove two hours to the other side of the country (the Netherlands are not that big..) to pick it up. At first it did not work. The characters on the screen made no sense and I soon found out it was a problem with the video memory. So I ordered a set of 'new' RAM chips and fixed it.Which was extremely satisfying....

Next came an Acorn Electron. Again on EBay, only €25,- ! This came very complete, in the original box with the original 'Getting Started' manual. Since it did not require repair or cleaning, I just sat down to discover the possibilities of this machine. And again it was great fun.
So I suddenly realized that I actually could buy now almost every computer that I so desperately wanted when I was young ( and could not afford at the time)

And now I'm filling the house with a continuously growing stack of ancient electronic devices. After a purchase (or sometimes donation) I clean the unit, fix it if necessary, assemble the necessary cables or power supply and make sure they run again. And of course I take a lot of pictures of both the interior and exterior. Not half as nice as the pictures on Oldcomputr.com , but good enough for my own archives.
While exploring my newly found treasure I usually find loads of information on the internet and I try to keep links to the most interesting and informative ones.
